Couldn't agree more about how we never actually get a break from ads reminding us to buy stuff for the next event of the year. Christmas starts straight after Guy Fawkes Night, which in turn starts straight after Hallowe'en. Of course, none of this is because there’s a certain special occasion on the 3rd of December, which the Christmas build-up may detract from, right?
