Confidence

Sometimes I lack a little bit of confidence, it’s always been that way. Over the past few years this has mainly all been directed to my chosen field of Computing.

Well alas no more, after working at IBM and getting my feedback (which told me I lacked confidence in my own abilities), I am throwing myself in at the deep end.

Deciding that there are more important things than class of degree, I am aiming to work and make myself a more employable person - I know I have the skills, I just don’t tend to market them.

So when the post came up in this years Compsoc of President, I realised I had everything I needed to do the role, but I hung back. Why?

Because I decided someone better suited would take this role, but thing was the only thing that would put someone else above me was their confidence in themselves, as I was the only person in 4th year with past Compsoc experience. That settled it for me, I had to at least try!

So here I am Lauren, President of Compsoc, and I am extremely proud of my new post. So here is to more confidence filled days, and a cracking new Compsoc board!!!

Next compsoc event is probably going to be a bowling event, sometime towards the end of the month.
